St. George Commercial Building Permits
Throughout the United States the construction of commercial real estate has nearly come to a standstill. The Mainstreet Journal reports that as of mid-November 431 commercial construction permits were approved in Southwestern Utah.
They report that there were:
- 18 retail and wholesale permits
- 18 dining or personal care permits
- 3 auto or truck sales or service permits
- 36 industrial or warehouse permits
This is better news for the St. George commercial real estate market and the local economy, but doesn’t mean that we are in the clear. Southern Utah’s economy isn’t exactly ideal, but St. George continues to be ranked among the nations safest places to live, and best places to do business.
The unemployment rate in St. George is still nearly 2% less than the national average. Not perfect… but something to be grateful for!
